Welcome to the first A4-sized Lobster. We quite like being a ‘little mag’ but it had distinct disadvantages re being visible in bookshops.
Apart from the change in size, Lobster is pretty much as it was. Neither of us have any spare money, lots of graphic skills or a photographic library at our disposal. This issue was typed on other people’s machines (thanks to Colin and Sally for the use of), pasted-up by two self-taught paste-up people (us). We want the Lobster to be neat and legible. The rest – and we’d like the rest – will have to wait; and with something of such minority interest as this, the wait might be a long one.
The Lobster is just as good as the people who write for it. If there are people out there, who, reading this, think ‘I could do better’, please do, and send it to us. Once again most of the copy is written by us, not because we chose our copy before other people’s, but because ours is all there was at copy deadline. Britain is not dotted with people who have had their work rejected by The Lobster!
Comments, information, corrections, correspondence are welcome, but if you expect a reply please send a stamped, addressed envelope if possible.
