... /3 this began leaking out and a number of people were murdered in Texas to try and keep the lid on it. In 1963 Vice President LBJ appeared to be going down the pan. The Baker/Estes scandals were threatening to put him in jail. Without the president's support, LBJ couldn't turn the inquiries off; and the Kennedys were happy to see the scandals brewing: they wanted LBJ off the ticket for the 1964 election. Then Kennedy was bushwhacked in LBJ's backyard and his immediate problems disappeared. This book appeared as I was finishing my little Pocket Essential volume on the Kennedy assassination (see page 19) in which, as well as discussing some of the ...

See <http://www.nobelprize.org/ nobel_prizes/economic-sciences/laureates/1976/friedman-facts.html>. The LBJ-dunnit thesis The late Billie Sol Estes is at the heart of the LBJ's-people- dunnit theory of the Kennedy assassination. That most of the Kennedy assassination researchers do not take this theory seriously is due, in large part, to their not taking Estes seriously, because he was a convicted fraudster. Precisely what his fraud was has been difficult to grasp until recently. But Amy Reading has researched it in detail and has published an intelligible account.2 ...

... and, to round off his catholic enthusiasms, was convinced there was a big Jewish/Communist conspiracy. On 9 November 1963 Willie Somersett (a name straight out of James Ellroy), a professional police informant and childhood friend of Milteer, met with him and tape recorded the conversation. Amongst which was this: SOMERSETT: I think Kennedy is coming here on the eighteenth, or something like that to make some kind of speech.... MILTEER: You can bet your bottom dollar he is going to have a lot to say about the Cubans. There are so many of them here. SOMERSETT: Yeah. Well, he will have a thousand bodyguards, ...

... (c) www.lobster-magazine.co.uk (Issue 45) Summer 2003 Last| Contents| Next Issue 45 Harassment by the state Here are two articles about the ongoing harassment of individuals by unidentified forces within the state. Malcolm Kennedy (see Lobsters 39 and 41 and 43) is being harassed by having his attempts to create a business sabotaged because some policemen are afraid of what he experienced. In another society he would be killed or disappear. In ours he is simply being kept down. Robert Henderson is being harassed now because he made a fuss at being harassed in 1997 by Tony Blair and his circle. In effect, he is now being harassed because he is being a bloody ...

... Newman. He's written some of the best, sharpest, things about contemporary Britain: the Law and Order series and the Terry Sneed novels are the obvious places to start. But this- perhaps because of the shift to an American location and American characters- isn't so good. The 'men with the guns' are the gunmen who shot Kennedy, and the book's plot concerns a hunt for them a decade or more later. It's a good idea but it doesn't quite come off, neither as a thriller, nor as a roman a clef about the Kennedy assassination. But there is material of interest here for the student of conspiracy theories. For this, to my knowledge ...

Probe describes itself as the 'Newsletter of Citizens for Truth about the Kennedy Assassination', which doesn't do it any favours. Actually it is a professionally produced, 32-page quarterly magazine whose primary focus is the Kennedy assassination but whose ambit is actually the entire period from JFK's assassination through to Watergate- and beyond. The KGB chief in Washington, Aleksandr Feliksov, reported this to Moscow Centre on May 20, 1964, warning that President Johnson appeared even more intolerant of Cuba than the assassinated Kennedy and was not only agreeing to the political and economic isolation of Cuba but seemed more ready for military action. Arguments about the hugely valuable Leyland deal were raging worldwide when the MV Magdeburg left Rostock in East Germany, loaded with hundreds of tons of Communist-built farm machinery, diesel engines, bicycles, electrical equipment and chemicals for Cuba. ...

In 1963 NANA was severely criticized in a Senate Committee Report, for syndicating pro-Chiang Kai-shek propaganda written by a paid American lobbyist. In spring 1963, seven months before the Kennedy assassination, Prewett was assailing the administration for its opposition to the raids mounted against Cuba by Antonio Veciana's Alpha 66 guerillas. On April 2, in the Washington Daily News, Prewett lambasted a Kennedy spokesman who had "called the daring and gallant Alpha 66 raids on Cuba irresponsible acts". Prewett called this "an all-time low in ...
