... The previous version was 'The 70 greatest...' and the authors haven't bothered to write a new introduction which still refers to 70. If you haven't seen one of these compendiums, it is pretty much as you would expect: short sections on subjects ranging from the silly (Jim Morrison's death/non-death) to the serious (JFK, 9-11). The bigger the subject, the less satisfactory are the sections. To be of any interest a book like this demands that the author/s know the subjects they are writing about to provide a plausible overview. This the authors manage on some subjects but not others. The section on JFK's death for example, ...

... ..' We may reasonably presume that Denmark was not the only state to do this.... Is Google in bed with the spooks? John Simkin runs a large Website on the Kennedy assassination <www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKindex.htm> In October he sent me an e-mail, of which this is an extract. During my research on the JFK assassination I received information that an anti-communist group called the Intercontinental Penetration Force (Interpen) was involved in the operation. Interpen was a privately funded right-wing group that received support from the CIA in operations against Castro. I produced a page on Interpen for my website. I also produced biographies of the group's leading members, including those I ...

Jablow Hershman New Jersey: Barricade, 2002, $27.95 Colin Challen MP I tend to the view, presented succinctly in Who Shot JFK?, (10) that whoever assassinated Kennedy did so with the objective of installing LBJ as President. The tantalising question that arises is: did LBJ know? This book does not answer that question, but it does address issues about LBJ's mental state which make it feasible that he could have gone along with such a plan. Unfortunately the first half of the book is mostly a collection of conspiracy-minded essays on Skull and Bones and related areas which are of little value. The Illuminati first appear on p. 17 and editor Milligan gives us an essay titled 'Mind control, the Illuminati and the JFK assassination'. The least risible of these essays are by the late Anthony Sutton, who has been writing about the group for twenty years. In effect the founder of Skull and Bones studies, Sutton was sent a list of the society's members in the early 1980s and has been writing about them ever since, incorporating the group into ...
