81. Here, there and everywhere [Lobster #56 (Winter 2008/9)]
... to weave the whole thing together is entertaining but no more convincing than any other attempt at producing what Tony Frewin once referred to as the Unified Field Theory of conspiracy. On Amazon.com's reviews of this book there are many raves; but continue on down through the second page and you come to a very destructive review by a former FBI agent, Delbert Hahn, who was interviewed by Hopsicker. Before buying this read that. Notes If the Zelig reference escapes you try <en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zelig> On getaway styles, I prefer the version in The Men on the 6th Floor (http://home. earthlink.net/ ~ ...

... further, detailing the story of Thomas Vallee, the designated scapegoat for an aborted attempt on Kennedy's life, had he attended the Army-Air Force football game at Soldier Field in Chicago. Vallee (whose background was similar to Oswald's, including work at U2 bases in Japan) while driving a car whose registration was closed off by the FBI, was arrested by Chicago police who had strong intelligence connections. After Kennedy's trip was cancelled, U.S . Treasury agent Abraham Bolden, who questioned the parallels with the situation in Dallas, was persecuted and eventually jailed. Meanwhile, two snipers had been arrested, and three more sought, in Chicago; but no mention was ...

... a blind eye to the spread of nuclear weapons in the pursuit of private profit is hard to comprehend.) After 9-11 the American complicity with Pakistan's nuclear weapons programme became one of the dirty secrets which had to be kept out of the 9-11 inquiry. This material is one of the reasons that the testimony of former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds, who listened to FBI wiretaps of the Khan network using Turkish intermediaries and American lobbyists and politicians in the network's continuing pursuit of nuclear technology, has been suppressed in the United States.(7 ) It also explains the persecution of Atif Amin, a UK customs official who was investigating the Pakistani nuclear trade.( ...

... researcher rides the bus to work with the "defector" who is about to be accused of assassinating the President. In the afternoon, she goes to the underground medical laboratory run by a known Mafia asset to develop a biological weapon. In between the two, she works at a cover-job under the supervision of an ex-FBI agent, who sends her on errands to deliver "envelopes" to the office of the Congressman who chairs the House Committee on Un-American Activities. ' The 'young cancer researcher' is Judyth Vary Baker who has claimed for years to have been the lover of Lee Harvey Oswald. The underground lab is 'known Mafia asset' David ...

... the party. Headlines in the financial press – one was "Wall Street Declares War on Spitzer" – made clear to Bush's enforcers at Justice who their number one target should be. And it wasn't Bin Laden. '( 2 ) The initial law enforcement interest in Spitzer, or the formal pretext perhaps, was a tip to the FBI from what the Americans call a Republican 'political operative', Roger Stone.(3 ) The system then put Spitzer under surveillance worthy of a major terrorist threat and duly caught him with his pants down. ... , The Unanswered Questions about President Kennedy's Assassination (New York: Award Books, 1965). Actually, it was preceded by Thomas G. Buchanan's Who Killed Kennedy? (London: Secker & Warburg, 1964) which was published before the Warren Report came out. Buchanan was criticising the 'findings' that had been leaked out by the FBI and others and putting the 'lone mad nut' thesis into (American) historical perspective. And what was David Lifton up to back then? And whither Thomas G. Buchanan? These are small cavils though and Kelin has done a remarkable job of research and writing. It's a good read, but at the back of my mind ...

... the far end of the spectrum, The Spectator has a disturbing account of David Shayler promoting his 9/11 Truth campaign in a Methodist church hall to an audience of about a dozen. The basic thrust of his theory is that the Twin Towers were brought down by 'Mossad secret agents working with a cabal of US arms manufacturers, the FBI, the CIA and blessing of the US government'. Fair enough, some might say. However, Shayler then claims that the planes involved in the attacks were 'missiles wrapped in holograms'. At this point the author puts forward a theory of his own. Could Shayler be an MI5 plant 'designed eventually to discredit the so- ...

... (29) Timmer looked at the photos and was certain that Oswald was the same person he had met in 1953. Later Timmer's mother wrote a letter (11 December, 1963) to President Johnson saying that her son had known Oswald when he was in Stanley, North Dakota. The letter was given by the Secret Service to the FBI who sent agents to interview both Timmer and his mother but, as Armstrong notes, there is no evidence that any of this investigation was ever passed on to the Warren Commission. How does Bugliosi respond to this? Easy. It's all rubbish. How come? Easy again – the FBI checked it all out and they say it ...

On 11 May 1955, Bishop Valerian actually conducted prayers in the US Senate, probably the only man to have ever ordered that Jewish victims should have their tongues cut out to have done so. His anti-Communism earned him the protection of the FBI, something that according to Goda, shocked even the CIA. Both these volumes are highly recommended.
