... wing of the American Western Goals Foundation, which had been established in 1979 by, amongst others, the ultra right-wing Georgia Congressman, Larry McDonald. Its early supporters included General John Singlaub, with Carl 'Spitz' Channell as president and Linda Guell as chair. 23. The British Right [Lobster #16 (Jun 1988)]
... Jack Abramoff, former Chair of the College Republican National Committee (which sounds not unlike Britain's Conservative Students which spawned Hoiles and Young.) I first noticed Abramoff in heavy-weight far-right American circles as one of the committee organising the first Larry McDonald Memorial Dinner. (Conservative Digest February 1985). McDonald, a Bircher, was killed when KAL 007 was shot down. Predictably, some of the US far-right think it was shot down to kill McDonald. He thus became a 'martyr'. It's an ill wind.... McDonald was the founder of Western Goals, and that organisation overlaps with IFF. Western Goals Board Member, Congressman Philip Crane, is also one of ...
